Are your blends Gluten Free?
Each individual ingredient is gluten free, but we have not been able to be certified as our manufacturer processes other products that contain gluten. If you are gluten intolerant it should be fine, but if you are coeliac, we cannot guarantee it.
Do I start with the full suggested dose?
Hmmmm, it depends. If your diet is pretty high fibre and generally healthy, it should be totally fine. But....if you are new to the health and eating well game, we suggest you start at a half dose and slowly build up. The key is to keep your water intake up as well.
What is important to know when increasing fibre?
Go slow (you can start at a half dose) and slowly build up. The most important thing above all is to ensure you have enough water intake.
Are your blends safe for pregnancy?
They have recently come out with new clinical research stating postbiotics are not only safe but beneficial for pregnancy! We still do recommend that you start new health interventions past the first trimester anyway.
Where are your blends made?
100% here in Australia - in fact they are lovingly made in small batches (to maintain freshness and nutritional integrity) right here on the Sunshine Coast.
What is the best way to take your blends?
The simplest way is to mix a serving into a small quality alternative milk. Stir well and drink up! But, it also works so well in a smoothie, in porridge and in baked goods.
What is the best time to take it?
The best time to take the blend is when it suits your lifestyle and routine.
What does it taste like?
It's very mild in flavour. We have used absolutely NO flavours or additives so we use vanilla and cinnamon as our main tastes. Some have used the comparison to a childhood memory of 'soggy wheetbix' (but I can assure you the nutritional goodness is about 100x better!)
Are there any additives or preservatives in your blends?
Absolutely NOT! We refuse to but synthetic additives in a blend that is designed to heal and soothe the gut.
Is this blend suitable for low FODMAP?
Yes, it is - we are in the process of getting it assessed to be able to label it so. Start with 1/2 dose and build up depending on your situation.
Is this blend suitable for AIP Protocols?
If you are following a strict AIP protocol that excludes seeds, this won't suit. But if you are in a second phase protocol, this blend is full of plant-based omega 3s which are incredibly beneficial to manage inflammation.
Is your blend suitable for all digestive conditions?
As we work clinically, we know that you cannot make sweeping statements like it can be good for all. If you are concerned about your individual condition, please contact us and we are more than happy to give you personalised advice. Conditions to be cautious with (depending on how severe) are diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's Disease. However, when not acute, this blend may be a tool for prevention. Best thing is to contact us to ask!
What are possible side effects?
Depending on your baseline gut health, there is the potential in the beginning to get mild bloating and initially slower bowel movements. Over time your microbiome changes (for the better) and will adapt and thrive!
Should I avoid taking fibre with any foods?
The only supplements we encourage you to have at least 90 min away from this blend is an iron supplement. To ensure best iron absorption it needs to be away from grains, seeds, caffeine, dairy and oxalates.
